Murder Suspect in Custody

January 28th, 2009

On 9/24/08 The Goldsboro Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Maple St for a shooting. The victim, Alicia Griffin, was shot and transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital. Following an investigation warrants were secured on Derrick Best for Attempted Murder and three counts of Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property. On 1/1/09 Derrick Best was arrested at William St and Ash St in Goldsboro and the warrants were served.

Fugitive Arrested

January 5th, 2009

On November 13, 2008 at approximately 2350 hours Mr. Kelvin James reported that he had been shot by an unknown person at the corner of Slocumb and Elm Streets.

On December 10, 2008 at approximately 1050 hours Mr. Aijalon D. Dove was arrested for Assault With A Deadly Weapon Intent To Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. He was arrested after several tips being called into police. Dove was located in Courtyard Apartments.

Pizza Delivery Robber Charged

January 5th, 2009

On November 23, 2008 a delivery driver from Dominoes Pizza reported that a black male robbed him at gun point and ran from the scene.

On December 8, 2008 Goldsboro Police Department Investigations Division arrested:
Marquise Christopher Johnson for the crime of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. He was already housed in the Wayne County Jail for a previous charge of Breaking and Entering. He received a $25,000 secure bond for the Robbery charge.

Dudley Man Arrested

January 5th, 2009

On 12-08-2008 members of the Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Squad, and the Sheriff’s Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team arrested Derrick Warren in the parking lot of the Carolina Motel on North William Street. Warren was found to be in possession of about 55 dosages of Crack-Cocaine. He was arrested and taken to the Magistrates Office where his bond was set at $35,000.00 secured.

Goldsboro Couple Die In House Fire

December 6th, 2008

On 12/04/08 the Goldsboro Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1506 Dakota St Goldsboro NC. The Goldsboro Police Department was called to investigate with the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations. The two residents, Joseph Wiggs and Hilda Allen, were found deceased in the residence.
