Goldsboro Couple Die In House Fire

On 12/04/08 the Goldsboro Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1506 Dakota St Goldsboro NC. The Goldsboro Police Department was called to investigate with the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations. The two residents, Joseph Wiggs and Hilda Allen, were found deceased in the residence.

Chase Ends with Felony Drug Charges

As the result of an investigation conducted by the Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Squad the following was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with the intent to sell and deliver it, Fleeing to Allude Arrest, Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer with a Deadly Weapon, Littering, Driving while License was Revoked, and a number of other traffic charges.

Arrest Made In Shooting

On December 02, 2008, Investigators from the Goldsboro Police Department, along with Officers from “B” shift and Officers from the Gang Unit, arrested Demetrel Rashawn Best of 1904 North William Street, Lot 29, Goldsboro, NC. Mr. Best was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.
These charges are in reference to a shooting that took place in the 100 block of North Slocumb Street ,Goldsboro. Demetrel Best is accused of shooting Demetrius Royall of Goldsboro. After he was shot, Mr. Royall drove his Chrysler PT Cruiser to KFC Restaurant, 700 East Ash Street, at which time police were called. Royall was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital where he was being treated for two gunshot wounds.

Mr. Best was lodged in the Wayne County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond. His first appearance is set for December 3, 2008.
